AFC Elects New Trustees, Re-elects Officers

Cincinnati OH—Two new trustees were elected at the annual member meeting of the Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati (AFC), held November 20, 2008, at the foundation new headquarters at 127 West Ninth Street. They are J. Wickliffe (Wick) Ach, President/CEO of Hixson, an architectural/ engineering/interiors firm, and Bob Grace, the Commercial Project Executive for Turner Construction Company.
 
Wick AchBob GraceAch joined Hixson in 1977, and has been CEO since 1983. The Hillsdale College graduate is active in professional and community affairs, serving on the boards of five profit and not-for-profit organizations.
 
Grace oversees all Turner commercial projects in Southwest Ohio.  He has 25 years of Construction Management experience with Turner, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.

Alice Weston, a longtime member and supporter of the foundation, was elected trustee emeritus.   
 
Christine Schoonover, director of director of business development and sales for Huff Realty, was re-elected president. Michael Moose, AIA, a principal with Glaserworks, was named advisory chair of the board.  Vice president is David Arends, AIA, president and CEO, Cole + Russell Architects. Michael Huseman, president, HGC Construction, was reelected treasurer and Mark McKillip, secretary.
 
The Architectural Foundation is a nonprofit membership organization open to all with an interest in the built environment. Sue Ann Painter is the executive director. AFC’s purpose is to increase awareness of Greater Cincinnati’s new and historic architectural treasures through public educational programs and publications, such as its Architecture in Cincinnati (2006) book and online Biographical Dictionary of Cincinnati Architects (2008).
