Rules and Conditions of Entry

QUALIFYING WORK

  1. The AFC Architectural Drawing Competition is open for entries from architects, architectural students, and individuals associated with the architectural and design disciplines in the Cincinnati region.
  2. Only drawings that are architectural in nature will be accepted. Hand drawings, computer- generated images, and composite drawing will be accepted. Work must be printed and prepared for professional display. Digital submissions and models will not be accepted.
  3. Due to space constraints, work may not exceed 4’x6’ when framed or prepared for final display.
  4. All work must be ready to hang and have no breakable surface

LOGISTICS

  1. Each submission requires a separate entry fee. Students $15. Professionals $40
  2. Individuals may submit up to 3 entries.
  3. The professional entry fee includes a complimentary annual membership to the AFC.
  4. Each entry must be delivered to the AFC gallery. Work will be accepted on Friday, February 9, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturday, February 10, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Gallery attendants will confirm individuals registration, payment, and adherence to the rules and conditions of entry
  5. The AFC will be responsible for hanging the work and organizing the show.
  6. All work must be labeled correctly using the AFC label provided. One label shall be fixed to the back of each work or frame.
  7. All work must be picked up from the AFC within one week of the end of the exhibition. The end of the exhibition is April 30. Work that is not picked up will become the property of the AFC and will be stored or disposed of as deemed appropriate by the AFC exhibition committee.
  8. Students who must leave town prior to the end of the show may pick up their work early or make arrangements for their work to be collected by peers. Please coordinate with AFC staff or the Exhibit Co-chairs. Award-winning entries must remain through April 21.
  9. The exhibition will be at the Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati’s gallery at 811 Race Street. The show will run from February 23 - April 30. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on February 23, 5-7 p.m., at the AFC Gallery. The award ceremony will be at 6 p.m.
  10. A jury will be selected and announced prior to the opening of the exhibit.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  1. Entrants are responsible for ensuring their work meets the exhibit criteria.
  2. The decision of the AFC committee and the jury is final and binding.
  3. AFC will not provide refunds of entry fees, delivery costs, or other costs involved with the preparation, delivery, or display of the work.
  4. Standard copyright practice is adhered to.
  5. Any personal data submitted to the AFC will be used solely for the exhibition purposes and will not be shared with outside interests. If the work is accepted to the exhibition, the entrants personal data and work will be used for archives, catalogue, and publication of the exhibit
  6. Entrants agree that submitted artwork may be used by the AFC for future promotional materials, publication, and marketing.
  7. Any sales completed through the exhibit will be subject to a 10% commission fee.
